GHSA combines academic coursework and clinical experiences in challenging and collaborative learning environments designed to prepare students for careers in the Health Sciences. Each pathway provides a strong foundation of health-related knowledge and skills that allow participants to work in the health industry immediately after high school and/or continue on a health sciences college degree path. Through Biotechnology Research and Development, Health Informatics and Support Services, Diagnostic Services, and Therapeutic Services, students have access and exposure to 21st century technology resources that prepare them to meet their career goals in high-demand, high-wage, and high-skill health sciences careers.
From blood samples to x-rays, and other imaging technology, diagnostic service workers aid physicians in detecting, diagnosing, and treating acute and chronic diseases, injuries, or other physical conditions. Diagnostic services workers work with medical providers in hospitals and outpatient facilities. Diagnostic services pathway curriculum and enrichment learning programs focus on using proper equipment and procedures to run tests and evaluations and reporting results to other medical professionals. Students who complete this pathway will have the knowledge needed for the Healthcare Provider CPR Exam and the Certified Nursing Assistant Exam.
